... starts Monday ! ...Djokovic goes for the calendar slam, with Federer, Nadal, and Thiem all missing. Some seed numbers ;
4 - Zverev - just won the Olympic gold medal, and followed up with the Cincinnati tournament.
6 - Berrettini - ten Italians in the mens draw, Berrettini is the best of them.
8 - Ruud - young Norwegian has just won three lower ranked tourneys.
22 - Opelka - the highest ranked American now, he is a massive six feet eleven.
...and the women ;
1 - Barty - won Wimbledon, and tourneys on two other surfaces, Barty has pulled away from the field this year.
2 - Sabalenka - like a powerful cannon that sometimes misfires. She needs it to be her day
11 - Bencic - she won the gold in Tokyo, and is best on hard surfaces.
U - Giorgi - the unseeded Italian Giorgi just won the Montreal tournament.

Like all Italians, Berrettini grew up playing on red clay.. Also Djokovic is odds - on. I try to mention a few different seeds though, rather than just top 4.
however, you could be right about Medvedev :-)

Djokovic over best of 5 all day. Medvedev Zverev and Tsitsipas will all fancy their chances, but Djokovic, after a long rest after blowing out at the Olympics is the overwhelming favourite

Reckon Sir Andy will do the Australian Open and probably a farewell at Wimbledon 2022.
Federer might not even make it that far.
Djokovic will continue to rake in the Grand Slam's until some of the young pretenders lift their level.
I see Serena Williams is missing another Grand Slam. She is destined NEVER to overtake RANCID God Botherer Margaret COURT. That would have been thought inconceivable when Williams won her last one.

I think it all turned on the tie break he narrowly lost, could have won it in 3 with a little luck. Played well and probably retire from singles next year as you say
